Ecole Nationale des Scaphandriers

Ecole Nationale des Scaphandriers

The Ecole Nationale des Scaphandriers (ENS) is one of the four French-speaking schools in the world for the training of professional divers. ENS is certified by the Ministry of Labor to provide training for divers. Its 2 state certificates are recognized by the two major international organizations: the IMCA and the IDSA. It is the only school in France to deliver, at the end of the training, the 3 state certificates (Certificate of Aptitude to Hyperbaric Class 2 Mention A, Professional Title of Diver-Public Works) with IMCA recognition. and the international IDSA certificate.

The diver is a worker who intervenes in particularly hostile environments. The hyperbaric atmosphere poses exceptional constraints to the diver which implies the respect of rigorous procedures and a long and difficult formation.

ENS is one of the four French-speaking scuba divers schools in the world.
It has a certification and a state license issued by the Ministry of T orking:
- To provide training in "Certificate in hyperbaric, Class II Mention A".
- To issue a professional title: the "Professional Title of Public Works diver".

Only two schools in France can provide this double teaching: one in the northern half of France, in Brittany, and the National School of Scaphandlers in the southern half (Var).

In addition, the certificates issued by ENS are among the few patents in the world to be recognized by the oil industry for all offshore works. They allow ENS students to work aboard oil and gas platforms as well as on wind farms or tidal turbines at sea.

The ENS is the only school in France to issue, at the end of the training, the international certificate of diver (that of the international organization IDSA) which gives the trainee the opportunity to leave the country and practice his profession in the whole world.

These patents allow the diver to perform all underwater work (port, maritime, civil engineering operations, work in the oil, nuclear, etc.) up to 50 meters deep. Training activities cover all types of underwater work: parts removal, metrological measurement, cleaning of areas or equipment, assembly of mechanical systems, underwater welding, cutting, depollution , the inspection of sewage treatment plants or works of art, etc.

The large state institutions entrust the training of their nationals to ENS: Pôle emploi, Army, National Gendarmerie, Air Force, Navy National, Local Authorities (Town Halls and County Councils), all Regional Councils , DGA, DCNS, Local Missions, Fongécif, FAF TT (Temporary Work Training Insurance Fund), all OPCAs, etc.
