Tacrom Services was founded on the 28th of July 2006 with the goal to establish a modern Romanian Oil and Gas Upstream Stimulation Service Company. The National Oil Company Petrom (a member of the OMV group) selected 10 wells to be hydraulic fractured, as a field trial, to evaluate the performance of the new Service Company. After a successful frac campaign resulting in increased production further orders for treatments were placed.
To fulfill the vision of a modern technology company the basic Fracturing Fleet was upgraded in 2007 with a Hydration Unit to speed up the whole stimulation operation. In 2008 a Coiled Tubing Truck and a Nitrogen Pumper for fast clean outs completed the fleet. In 2009 a modern heating and filtration unit was built to streamline operations. Also a sand control blender was brought in to perform gravel pack jobs and small fracs. A MPPU, multi purpose pumping unit, arrived in 2012 for use in acidizing and solvent heating and pumping jobs.
Today, Tacrom Services is the leading Company for Stimulation Services in Romania and is trying to improve the operation every day.
A contract for an Enhanced Field Recovery Project was obtained and Tacrom Drilling S.R.L. was formed on the 16th of March 2008. Tacrom Drilling offered a fast moving Turnkey service for drilling and completion of shallow wells in the west of Romania. In 2009 an additional 75t drilling rig was delivered with the intention to extend the area of operation.
In 2011 TACROM DRILLING could obtain a newly tendered onshore drilling contract for drilling oil wells between 1000m and 1500m deep, mostly in the Vata field of Romania. Both rigs being Drillmec HH75 rigs do have the same technical features that make them especially suitable for drilling in highly populated areas, such as:
– Extremely small overall footprint of less than 1000m2
– Containerized auxiliary equipment for compact sizing and easy rig up
– Very short rig-up and rig-down times thus decreasing overall drilling costs dramatically
– The employment of DURA-BASE® mats to reduce well site preparation costs
– High safety standards supported by the rig design and lay-out
After the very successful introduction of these two Drillmec HH75 rigs, named FUTURA- 1 and FUTURA-2, the demand for an additional rig that could also deliver heavy work-over operations became evident. Following this request, TACROM DRILLING introduced a fully refurbished CARDWELL KB200C into the Romanian drilling and work-over services market. With a certified hookload of 130t this rig is able to perform heavy work-over and also drilling operations up to 2300m of well depth. However, all ancillary equipment was again kept very compact in size, and therefore the small footprint of the rig lay-out and the fast moving concept of the FUTURA-1 and FUTURA-2 rigs also apply to our new 130t rig, the FUTURA-3.
