Buderus Edelstahl

Buderus Edelstahl is a renowned German manufacturer of high-grade special steels. At the Wetzlar site, we produce tool steel, special engineering steel, open die forgings, drop forged components, hot strip, cold strip and rolled semi-finished products.

The entire production process is completed in our hands, from melting through to the end product. We produce tried-and-tested standard steels, as well as individual special steels with consistent high quality.

Buderus Edelstahl is part of the Austrian voestalpine group and employs around 1,360 workers. In fiscal year 2016/17, Buderus Edelstahl produced around 347,000 tons of crude steel and generated 355 million Euro worldwide. Of this total, the company generated 175 million Euro in Germany, 133 million Euro in the other European countries, 37 million Euro in Asia and 10 million Euro in North America.
